Walking Into The Unknown
How do you cope with
not knowing your future? Not knowing how a decision you make is going to turn
out? As I have said before in a previous post I am an over thinker. I think
about things that 99.9% of the time wont happen at all, but I dwell on it so
much that in my mind it becomes reality. Then I am afraid over nothing. I don't think anyone enjoys walking into
anything blindly but that is how I feel about life. I feel that I am wearing a
blindfold and merely feeling my way around to get from point A to point B. You
never know what is going to happen, and most times you are never prepared for
it. I am currently making a lot of tough decisions in my life. I was not
prepared to make them but it just happened. I could allow my flesh to get in
the way and let me be afraid but I have to ask myself, what would be the
purpose of that? I serve a living God who is "a very present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1).
Meaning God is involved in everything regarding our lives. So why worry when I
know He is working in my situation before I even stepped into the picture.
So one of the tough decisions that I am
having to make (just because it's life) is finding another job. It's hard to
say goodbye to people who I enjoy working with and have grown comfortable being
around, but if I want to support myself one day then I need to make a choice.
I'm only saying this so that you can relate in some way. We can't deny that
life can be hard and scary when you don't know what to expect. I find myself
wondering, what if I end up in a bad situation? What if I don't get along with
anyone? What if I am not happy here? What if, What if? The what if's need to
end here. It's not meant for me to worry about things I cannot necessarily
control. Worrying comes when we think too much. God says in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the
thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of
evil, to give you and expected end." So what's the point in us
worrying when God says that it's His will to give us a good future?
We just need to stop in the midst of all
the chaos and take a deep breath. Remember, God will not let us be overtaken by
anything. "And the LORD,
He it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee,
neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed" (Deuteronomy 31:8).
God goes before us. He has the solution before the problem even arises. So we
all know that worry is not necessary. The Creator of the Universe has got our
backs. We are never left alone. When we feel overwhelmed all we need to do is
ask God for peace of mind and He will give it before we even finish our prayer.
Everything will be just fine. God has made us stronger than we give ourselves
credit for. Just put your faith in God and He will do the rest. Be encouraged
and focus on the positive in any situation. God Bless You!

do not fear the unknown. We fear what we think we know about the unknown."
