Be Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving! This my only favorite holiday of the year. You never can go wrong with good food and family time. I'll just share a quick thought with you, it's all about being thankful every day instead of one. This day is designated to have you stop and count your blessings, but what about when it's all over? Do we return to our grumpiness and live like we are the victims all the time? No cause that's not living. I have witnessed many people who act like anything they have, the money they earn, and even the people they are around is never good enough. Now explain to me how that is a happy life? How do they have peace? And most of these people that I am referring to are so called Christians. If we are claiming the name of Jesus then we should obey His Word. So what does God say about this? "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." (1 Thessalonians 5:18) and "But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content." (1 Timothy 6:6-8). There are several more verses talking about thankfulness and contentment but you get the point. We need to stop running on a treadmill in our walk with Christ. We typically run and don't go anywhere. If we want to see change it starts with us. There is no better way too start learning than to start being thankful for everything especially the little things. God did not have to give us life but He did. He did not have to heal us but He did. And more importantly He did not have to die and save us but He did. Let us be grateful for the life He has given us and be content with the things He has given us. If nothing is ever good enough for you then you will never be happy. I pray we all enjoy every moment of our Thanksgiving with all of our loved ones. God Bless!
